Hello dear colleagues,
My name is Manouska, a student teacher-to-be, currently working on completing my last year of studies at the Hogeschool Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I am specialized in the younger child, which are the children between the age of 4 and 7.
In The Netherlands, the kindergarten is part of the primary school. This means that the Dutch education to become a primary school teacher and the education to become a kindergarten teacher exist of the same bachelor program.
During my exchange program in Oslo, Norway at the Oslo Metropolitan University, I learned about the importance of using fairy tales in educating children. Since using fairy tales in education in The Netherlands is not really an upcoming thing, I would like to use this blog to make it an upcoming thing.
With this blog, I hope to achieve some interest and motivation among Dutch kindergarten teachers (grade 1 and 2 in the Dutch school system) for using fairy tales in their weekly or daily education. I will link the use of fairy tales to playful learning and show you how you can combine both of them into great playful educational activities.
Please take a look around this blog and inspire yourself. Don't hesitate to contact me whenever you have any questions.
Enjoy.
Manouska
